BIG WEDDING,TINY BUDGET ...ROUTE TO A FABULOUS WEDDING

Wedding budget is a necessity for many in
this difficult economy. Every couple wants their
special day to be a memorable one, but it
takes planning and budgeting to get a really
memorable wedding day. It makes sense to
save money for something more long-term,
like building a house, buying a land etc. The
average wedding is estimated to cost about
N2m. A bit Fab and not too cheap is what you
will get. Wedding Budgets are much more
sensible and they can still be wonderful. So
here are some amazing wedding budget ideas
that won’t leave you counting the cost for years.
1. SIMPLICITY: The best tip of all is to keep
things simple – Ask yourself if you really need
to have a luxury car, 200 guests, a reception at
a top-class hotel, and a designer dress. Or what
exactly do you want? The most important thing
is the commitment that you are making to
each other, not just one day. Having it simple
will be equally memorable, but for the right
reasons and you will save a fortune to use on
other important things like buying a house, car,
land etc.
2. VENUE BUDGET: One of the major expenses
of a wedding is the payment for the reception
venue. Choose a smart hotel or event center
and you will end up paying hundreds of
thousands. wedding Budgets can be achieved
with a careful choice of venue. If you have
access to a large garden, and you are having a
(spring or summer) wedding, that can make an
ideal (and cheap) location.
3. CUT THE GUEST LIST: putting together the
guest list can be one of the worst nightmares in

wedding planning. If you feel obliged to unite
every neighbor or distant relative, plus their
partners, invitees and children, your list will be
as long as your arm and the bill will be
enormous. So keep the guest list short and only
invite the people you really want there.
4. SHOP CLEVERLY: Wedding budgets  are still
possible if you shop cleverly. Hire or buy a
gown from a bridal shop, borrow a friend’s
classic car, find a photographer who is just
starting up etc. there are lots of ways of getting
what you want cheaply.
5. CATERING: Catering is one area that is often
tempting to cut in tight on wedding budgets.
Calculate the amount you can or willing to
spend on food. Plan the menu and consider
hiring some one to carry out the most difficult
aspect of the catering (serving).
6. WHAT MATTERS TO YOU: When trying to
keep the wedding budget, consider the aspect
of the day that really matters to you. Save on
things you are not so worried about and
prioritise the most important aspects.
7. USE SKILLS: One of the best ways to budget
for a wedding is to capitalize on the skill that
your friends and family have. If one of them is
talented in baking, ask if he/she can make the
cake. Someone else could make the bridesmaid
dresses; you may even know some one who is
happy catering for large numbers.
In conclusion, every body worries so much
when planning their wedding. In other for you not
to worry much on your wedding, you have to plan
your wedding budget to be as friendly as possible.
